About WOS Formations: how the numbers are computed, what they cover and how to cite them

New here? How it works

Counters and captains built against the exact enemy wall you face. Buffs of the same category add; different categories multiply — so unique buffs win. The rally leader's 3 heroes use all their expedition skills + weapon; each joiner counts only its first hero's first (top-right) skill.

📊 Predict a battle before you fight
Load your attack or defense plan, then set troops (the garrison count for the enemy), gem buffs, pets and experts. Exact report stats are optional.
📘 Joiners guide — which first skill to send
In a rally only each joiner's FIRST hero counts, and only the 4 joiners with the highest first-skill level (ties go to whoever joined first). Send the hero whose first skill adds a buff category the leaders do not already have: the same category adds, different categories multiply. Ranked here as the first joiner added to the best leader trio of your generation.
🐻 Bear trap formations — best marksman Attack & Lethality per generation
Bear trap is a pure damage race: no need to survive. Rally leaders send 10/10/80 (infantry/lancer/marksman) and joiners send mostly marksmen (90-100%). Heroes are picked to maximize marksman damage (Attack and Lethality first, then the buffs that multiply with them): the leader's three heroes use all skills and weapons, each joiner counts only the first hero's first skill.

WOS Formations is a Whiteout Survival rally planner and guide site, proudly represented by State 2408. It computes the best troop split, rally leaders and joiners for attacking a garrison for Gen 1-16 (newer generations are added when hero data is available). The numbers are model baselines for equal gear: the stacking rule was checked against a Gen 9 community sheet and parts of the model against real battle reports. How the numbers are computed

  • All castle attacks are rallies. The rally leader's three heroes (infantry, lancer, marksman) use all their expedition skills and the exclusive weapon. They are picked together as a team.
  • Each joiner adds only the first expedition skill of their first hero, and only the 4 highest-level joiners count. Duplicates are allowed.
  • Buffs of the same category add together; buffs of different categories multiply. This stacking rule was checked against a Gen 9 community sheet.
  • Troop counter triangle: Infantry beats Lancer, Lancer beats Marksman, Marksman beats Infantry. Troop tier and Fire Crystal skills are part of the battle predictor.
  • Hero data follows the Whiteout Survival wiki (June 2026). Skills that need a troop type score close to zero when that type is absent.

What the tables show

The garrison attack tables show the best split, leaders and joiner first skills against six garrison types for each generation: a full hero roster of that generation, equal gear on both sides, T11 troops without Fire Crystal. They are model output, baselines and not guarantees. Open the planner for your exact enemy, heroes and troop tier.

What the model does not cover

  • Castle turret fire and reinforcement refills are not simulated.
  • Generations newer than Gen 16 are not covered yet.
  • The Crystal Shield flat damage offset, T12 troop skills and most expert skills are not modelled.
  • Community ratios such as 50/20/30 or 60/40/0 are quoted from guides and were not produced by this model.
