**A fully maxed Whiteout Survival pet gives +33.52% Troops' Attack and Defense at level 100 (SSR pets), up to +58.10% refinement on each Lethality and Health stat, and 7 of the 14 pets also have a 2-hour combat skill with a 20-hour cooldown (up to +10% Attack, Lethality, Health or Defense, or -10% enemy Defense). All 14 pets maxed together give +333.50% Attack and Defense and +475.96% Lethality and Health per troop type. In a rally battle these bonuses are added into stat pools of roughly 1,800-2,600%, so one +10% pet skill is worth only about 0.4% of battle strength. Data from the official wiki, October 2026.**

## How pets work in battle

- **Base stats:** each pet adds Troops' Attack and Defense that grows with its level (+5.02% at level 50 up to +33.52% at level 100). These are permanent, always on, and add up across all pets.
- **Advancement:** advancing a pet raises its base stat at every level (for example +31.46% before and +33.52% after advancing at level 100).
- **Refine stats:** refining adds Lethality and Health to each troop type (Infantry, Lancer, Marksman). Also permanent.
- **Active skill:** some pets have a skill you trigger yourself. Skills level up with the pet (skill level 1 to 10 for the level 100 pets). A combat skill lasts 2 hours and then cools down for 20 hours, so use it before a rally battle, not after.
- **Stacking:** pet bonuses are Special Bonuses. The battle report lists them as part of the stat bonuses, so they are added into the same Attack, Defense, Lethality and Health pools as gems, experts and gear. They are not separate multipliers.

## Unlock order and requirements

Pets unlock in a fixed chain. Each pet needs the previous pet at a minimum level before it can be captured (level 1 for Arctic Wolf, level 15 up to Cave Lion, level 30 after Cave Lion), and a minimum number of days since the server opened. Musk Ox also needs Furnace level 18.

Cave Hyena (25d) → Arctic Wolf (25d) → Musk Ox (25d) → Giant Tapir (50d) → Titan Roc (50d) → Giant Elk (70d) → Snow Leopard (70d) → Cave Lion (130d) → Snow Ape (130d) → Iron Rhino (195d) → Saber-tooth Tiger (195d) → Mammoth (270d) → Frost Gorilla (270d) → Frostscale Chameleon (360d)

## Combat skills ranked by battle value

Only seven pet skills change a combat stat. Their value is small because they add a few percent to a pool that is already near 2,000%. Typical pools in real SvS castle reports (13 reports from October 2026): Attack about 2,600%, Defense 2,100%, Lethality 1,800%, Health 1,900%. Adding x points to a pool (or taking x points off the enemy pool) changes the strength ratio by about x / (100 + pool).

| Pet skill (max level) | Effect | Stat pool it changes | Battle strength gained |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Saber-tooth Tiger** | Troops Lethality +10% | Lethality | +0.53% |
| **Frost Gorilla** | Troops Health +10% | Health | +0.50% |
| **Frostscale Chameleon** | Enemy Troops' Defense -10% | Defense (enemy) | +0.45% |
| **Mammoth** | Troops Defense +10% | Defense | +0.45% |
| **Cave Lion** | All troops Attack +10% | Attack | +0.37% |
| **Snow Leopard** | Enemy Troops Lethality -5% | Lethality (enemy) | +0.26% |
| **Titan Roc** | Enemy Health -5% | Health (enemy) | +0.25% |

All seven skills at max level together are worth about +2.8% battle strength, equal to roughly 1.4% more troops. Iron Rhino (+150,000 rally capacity) and Snow Ape (+15,000 march capacity) add troops instead: +150,000 troops on a 1,400,000 rally is about +10.7% troops, which is worth far more than any single stat skill.

## Base stats and power by pet level

The same table applies to all seven level 100 SSR pets (Chameleon, Gorilla, Mammoth, Tiger, Rhino, Ape, Lion). Level power plus advancement power gives the fully advanced power.

| Pet level | Attack and Defense (before advancing) | Attack and Defense (fully advanced) | Power (before advancing) | Power (fully advanced) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Lv1 | 0.17% | 0.17% | 12,240 | 12,240 |
| Lv10 | 1.68% | 2.86% | 120,960 | 205,920 |
| Lv20 | 4.53% | 5.70% | 326,160 | 410,400 |
| Lv30 | 7.38% | 8.85% | 531,360 | 637,200 |
| Lv40 | 10.52% | 11.99% | 757,440 | 863,280 |
| Lv50 | 13.67% | 15.44% | 984,240 | 1,116,680 |
| Lv60 | 17.12% | 18.88% | 1,232,640 | 1,359,360 |
| Lv70 | 20.55% | 22.32% | 1,479,600 | 1,607,040 |
| Lv80 | 24.00% | 26.05% | 1,728,000 | 1,875,600 |
| Lv90 | 27.72% | 29.78% | 1,995,840 | 2,144,160 |
| Lv100 | 31.46% | 33.52% | 2,265,120 | 2,413,440 |

Maximum base stat by level cap: level 80 pets (Snow Leopard, Giant Elk) +21.78%, level 70 pets (Titan Roc, Giant Tapir) +15.08%, level 60 pets (Musk Ox, Arctic Wolf) +10.06%, Cave Hyena at level 50 +5.02%.

## Refining: maximum and power

- Each pet has 6 refine stats: Infantry, Lancer and Marksman Lethality, and Infantry, Lancer and Marksman Health.
- The maximum per stat depends on the pet: Frostscale Chameleon 58.10%, Iron Rhino, Saber-tooth Tiger, Frost Gorilla and Mammoth 49.16%, Cave Lion and Snow Ape 44.69%, Snow Leopard and Giant Elk 29.05%, Titan Roc and Giant Tapir 20.11%, Musk Ox and Arctic Wolf 13.41%, Cave Hyena 6.70%.
- **Refining power = 12,000 x the sum of the 6 refine percentages** (verified in game, the same rate for every rarity).
- **Battle value:** one refine point on the Lethality of your main troop type adds about 0.053% battle strength. Refining the types you actually send (usually Infantry and Marksman) is worth more than refining Lancer.

## What all 14 pets give at max

Attack and Defense are the sum of every pet's fully advanced base stat; Lethality and Health are the sum of the maximum refinement of every pet, for each troop type.

| Stat (all 14 pets fully maxed) | Bonus |
| --- | --- |
| Troops' Attack | +333.50% |
| Troops' Defense | +333.50% |
| Lethality (each troop type) | +475.96% |
| Health (each troop type) | +475.96% |

## Which pets to prioritise

1. Level and advance the SSR pets first: the base stat rises from +5% to +33.5% and it applies to all troops.
2. Refine Lethality and Health on the troop types you send most often. Chameleon has the highest refine cap (58.10%).
3. Before a rally battle, activate Saber-tooth Tiger, Cave Lion, Frost Gorilla and Mammoth for yourself, and Frostscale Chameleon, Snow Leopard and Titan Roc against the enemy. Remember the 2-hour window and the 20-hour cooldown.
4. Use Iron Rhino when the rally is below the rally capacity limit.

The [battle predictor](https://wosformations.com/) can add these pet skills for you: tick "Assume my pets are active" in the attack or defense planner, then load the plan in the predictor.

## Frequently asked questions

### How long do Whiteout Survival pet skills last?

Active pet skills such as Cave Lion, Saber-tooth Tiger, Frost Gorilla, Mammoth and Frostscale Chameleon last 2 hours and then have a 20-hour cooldown.

### What is the strongest pet skill for a rally battle?

Iron Rhino (+150,000 rally capacity at max level) adds the most, because it adds troops. Among stat skills, Saber-tooth Tiger (+10% Lethality) is worth the most, about 0.53% of battle strength, followed by Frost Gorilla and Frostscale Chameleon.

### Do pet bonuses stack with gem and expert bonuses?

Yes. Pet, gem and expert bonuses are Special Bonuses that are added into the same stat pools, so they add to each other instead of multiplying.

### What is the maximum base Attack and Defense a pet gives?

A fully advanced level 100 pet gives +33.52% Troops' Attack and Defense. All 14 pets maxed together give +333.50%.

### What is the maximum refinement of a pet?

It depends on the pet: 58.10% per stat for Frostscale Chameleon, 49.16% for Iron Rhino, Saber-tooth Tiger, Frost Gorilla and Mammoth, and 6.70% for Cave Hyena.

### How is pet power calculated?

Pet power is level power plus advancement power plus refining power. Refining power is 12,000 times the sum of the six refine percentages.
